The revolving Hotel Monteleone bar that is famous enough to be annoying and good enough to forgive.

Carousel Bar is a tourist magnet because it is, in fact, a very good bit. The bar rotates slowly inside Hotel Monteleone, and the room has enough literary-hotel glamour to keep the novelty from swallowing the drink.
The trick is timing. Go early, sit at the bar if fortune smiles, and do not force the evening to become a campaign. A Vieux Carré is the right order; the hotel bar classics are the point.
If it is packed, look at it, smile, and return another day. The room is best when it feels like a bar, not a queue with stemware.
