Cure opened when serious cocktails in New Orleans still needed explaining. It does not now. The converted firehouse on Freret has become a neighborhood institution precisely because the drinks are exact and the room is comfortable enough to stop performing expertise.
Order from the current list, or ask for a classic if that is what the night wants. The bartenders know the canon; they also know when not to make the evening about the canon.
Pair it with dinner on Freret or make the bar the destination. It remains one of the city's cleanest modern cocktail rooms.
