Audubon Aquarium

French Quarter

Audubon Aquarium sits where Canal Street meets the river, which makes it almost too easy to dismiss as a family attraction. It is that, but a good one: aquatic life, Gulf context, and enough indoor scale to rescue a brutal weather day.

The aquarium is best for families, first-timers with a spare afternoon, or anyone who wants a riverfront stop that does not involve another bar. Pair it with the Moonwalk, the ferry view, or the French Market if the weather loosens its grip.

Do not force it into an adult-only itinerary unless the day asks for it. When the day does, it answers cleanly.
