Elizabeth's
A Bywater breakfast room with enough neighborhood funk to make praline bacon feel inevitable.
Bywater
Elizabeth's is the Bywater breakfast answer when you want something more local than pretty. The room is loose, the plates are generous, and the kitchen understands that brunch is better when it remembers lunch is coming.
Praline bacon is the famous thing, and it is famous for understandable reasons. But the better test is the everyday food: eggs, biscuits, seafood, burgers, specials that feel cooked rather than assembled. It is a useful morning anchor before walking the Bywater or Crescent Park.
Do not over-romanticize it. Elizabeth's is good because it is a working neighborhood restaurant with a sense of humor and a frying pan.
