Loretta's matters because pralines in New Orleans are too often treated as airport candy. Loretta Harrison built a business around the real thing: deeply sweet, yes, but balanced by craft and by the fact that someone is making them with purpose.
The pralines are the reason, but the savory side deserves attention too, especially the praline beignet when available. This is a short stop, not a meal, and that is fine. Some places only need ten minutes to justify themselves.
Bring a box home if you must. Eat one while walking first, because delayed gratification is not always a virtue.
