The Roosevelt is New Orleans hotel grandeur at full scale: marble corridors, a lobby that understands procession, and the Sazerac Bar holding court just off the main flow. It is downtown, not quite in the Quarter, which gives it room to breathe.
The hotel works best for travelers who want polish, amenities, and a little ceremony. It is not boutique, and it should not pretend to be. The pleasure is in the size of the thing and the confidence with which it operates.
